StreetPilot III
Back before in-car systems were widely available, portable units like this Garmin StreetPilot III retailed for about a thousand bucks and were worth every penny! I am the original owner of this device and I used it every day for about two years. It is still in very good condition and works flawlessly. The only caveat is the terrific MapSource CD, which is included with this item, is now about four years old and will not include that fancy new bridge or the new Super-Duper Biggie-Burger that opened last year. On the plus side, this unit has USB connectivity so you can update points of interest. The simple, intuitive menus of the Street Pilot III offer access to the shortest and fastest routes, directions, and estimated arrival time of your intended destination. Automated voice prompts alert you to upcoming turns, course deviation, and distance to final destination. At the touch of a button, view the locations of all the nearest highway exits, gas stations, restaurants, ATMs, hospitals, and rest areas on a full-color LCD. (Note: This unit, like most, does NOT pronounce street names.) Everything you need is included! Just place the portable system on the dash of any vehicle using the included "bean-bag" mount and plug the power cord/speaker system into your 12V socket and of you go. The included 32 MB Data Card will hold fully detailed street maps and points of interests covering approximately 150-200 mile radius from your selected "home."
Sample Screens More than just a map, the Street Pilot III provides a wealth of information about your location, surroundings, points of interest, bodies of water, and your driving conditions. It's multi-use screen can be set to display
